It all started with a simple question: who is actually watching all that security camera footage that is being recorded? For the most part the answer is simple: nobody. The footage is created, but there aren’t resources in most places to meaningfully use more than a fraction of it.
This is where we saw a huge opportunity for AI to make a meaningful difference to people. The technical know-how to create world-class AI models was already there (with more than 50 years of AI technology research from TNO). On top of that, we already have experience scaling computer vision systems from 0 to thousands of locations across the globe.
